The start of March

I started the month of March with a sinfully delicious lemon poppy seed cupcake with super pretty pink frosting all packaged in a cute pink polka dot cupcake liner. I wanted to take a picture of the cupcake but it was gone in a blink of an eye and I was left with bits of pink frosting on my fingers instead *snickers*

The leap day yesterday was pretty good actually and I wonder what the next leap year will bring. Am looking forward to March already {markets to visit, lunches and a wedding to attend, photos to edit, new recipes to try, heaps of moving in to do and hopefully more more more posts} so, have a marvelous March everybody!

The last time I went, I came back with a huge
stash of things. I got myself a new handbag with
a cute picture of a pony on it {its a happy bag that I
have just started using to work}, B got a stripey t-shirt,
I got heaps of craft supplies {washi tape included} and we
just had a good time browsing through the shops.

At times I find that I am like the people complaining aboutthe mud in the sandals. Concentrating only on the unpleasant bits of the momentand not fully grasping the infinite goodness happening around me. It is sosimple to gripe and grumble at the little everyday disappointments like gettingstuck in a jam, getting yelled at by your boss, missing the train and etc. insteadof to give thanks.

How often do we pause and thank God for everything that wehave been blessed with? I for one am not a very good at thanking God. I takethings for granted and only thank Him when I remember to which is just trulyterrible. For we should give thanks to God for every little thing that we haveand are able to do like see, read, write, type, laugh, sing, dance, blog, pin… everything comes from God and we should thankHim continuously for his blessings upon us.

The past month has been filled with such amazing blessings fromGod. His hand has been upon both B and I and our families. He has provided awonderful wedding and birthday celebration for both B and I, filled with ourfriends and family So many friends stepped up to help with the wedding and there were so many lovely and generous gifts. It was truly a ceremony filled with love and joy and for that, both B and I will always be thankful.

So, I will try my best each day to be thankful foreverything that God has provided me and will continue to provide for me and I will strive to bereminded constantly of his kindness and goodness.

I was waiting for Pantone to announce the colour of the year
and when I saw it was sort of an orange type colour,
I didn't immediately start blogging a post about it.

To be honest, I am NOT a fan of the colour orange per se.

However, I think I am starting to like Tangerine Tango.

It's kind of growing on me.

It's a very fiery and strong and quite bold too...

but I prefer Honeysuckle Pink any day over Tangerine Tango

I can't believe it but its true... so true.

Today is also Valentine's Day!!!

Pain au Chocolat

Pain au Chocolat is something that I love immensely.

It is one of my favourite breakfast pastries especially

if it is right out of the oven and is piping hot...

the chocolate just oozzeeesss out of the crisp buttery croissant!

I had a pain au chocolat recently for breakfast...

{ok, it was a chocolate and almond croissant but its close *smiles*}

and by golly was it yummy. I had it with a box of milk {was a tad

to lazy to pour it in a glas, so I slurped it from a bendy blue straw}.

The one thing that makes me smile merrily to myself on days at the

office that drag on by mercilessly is the thought of one day soon,

having a pain au chocolat with B in Paris with an awesome

view of the Eiffel Tower *smiles smiles grin grin*

Although there are some kinks in the trip, I am still

hopeful that we will make it to Europe this year.

In the summer or early Autumn.

Project Happily Ever After

I coined the title "Project Happily Ever After" on

November 23rd 2011 for the preparations for my wedding.

To me it was a whimsical name which held hope

and promise for the wedding of my dreams.

I wanted to write about "Project Happily Ever After" for many months now, yet there was either never a good time {as it always is}, there were just too many things getting in the way, I felt like crying, screaming, or breaking something, or I just didn't feel like writing. Now that the big day is less than 20 days away, I feel as if it is time to write it all down, spit it all out.

For as long as I can remember I wanted to get married. It was a very sure thing. One of the only sure things in life for me to be honest. I wanted a fairy tale, colour coordinated wedding with all the prettiest things. The wedding would go smoothly, everyone would fall in love with my dress, decorations and every little detail and call my wedding unforgettable, memorable, wonderful.

Well as life would have had it, my wedding is none of that. There have been mistakes and hurdles every step of the way. From the invitation list, to the invitation itself, the decoration for the house, the do's and don'ts have marriage, the dress, the thank you card, the RSVPs and the list goes on... even the honeymoon has not been spared. It's been quite awful to be honest and squabbles, nagging, sharp words, angry stares, grumbling, annoyance, cold shoulders and etc. is nothing new around here these days. Am I bridezilla I wonder... probably I am... because in my mind and my heart I have always wanted this fairy tale wedding. And what I have is far from that. So I become this horrid person who gets angry and who worries for no good reason.

To be honest, I really do want to enjoy this whole wedding planning process. I want colour binders. And clever lists. I want to live it. Feel it. Breathe it. And I do just that {or most of it} but the reality of things leaves such a horrible bittersweet taste in my mouth.

For someone who loves weddings like I do, who stalks wedsites and such, my wedding is far from the way I want it to be. It's not like how I read about in books nor is it pretty like in Marta Stewart or all those bridal magazines. You might think me ungrateful or dramatic... but it is the truth.

Yet... yet out of all this gloom and horridness, there is a silver glittery lining that makes the unpleasantness okay. It sparkles like a beacon of hope. A sign that everything will be alright if I trust. If I believe. If I hope. This silver glittery lining is the knowledge that I am never alone. That God is always by my side, helping me through the ups and the downs that I have faced. His hand is always there, guiding me, loving me, helping me in ways that I cannot fathom. Then there is also the understanding and acceptance that the fairy tale wedding of yesteryear that I had built so meticulously in my mind was just that. A fairy tale. It was pretty on the outside but empty on the inside. But now, the inside is full of love and joy at starting a new beginning with someone I love. It is brimming over with hope and promises of a new days ahead.

It is really a sign of surrender to God and to my perfect fairy tale wedding. For upon surrendering can I fully appreciate the wonder of what a marriage really is. It is about a new start. A new chapter. A new relationship between myself and B. It is a joining of two hearts into one. It is a union and a promise before God. A pledge of eternal love. It is the start of a 'we' and a departure from 'me'. It is about what comes after the glitz, prettiness and colours of the wedding.

The wedding is like a pretty present, wrapped up and decked out in all its prettiness. Yet, at the end of the day, the wrapping is taken off. Sometimes we will take several pretty pictures to put up on Facebook or Pinterest or our blogs. After that we will slowly undo the wrapping to reuse as scrap material for an arts and crafts project. Or we may just rip through the wrapping and ball up the bits of paper and ribbon and dunk it in a bin. So at the end of the day, you might get some pretty pictures and some bits and bobs for your next project but what really counts after all the unwrapping is what lies underneath it.. the gift, in this case marriage. And my dear readers, that is what is most important... the marriage.

My marriage with B.

How we live our days under the sun and moon as husband and wife. The memories we will make, the smiles, tears, opportunities, challenges, laughter, joy and tenderness shared. It is the one thing that keeps me going. The fact that at the end of the day, I will be married to B my best friend. I want people to say about this marriage that it stood the test of time, that it was unforgettable, memorable, wonderful.

Don't get me wrong. I still am irked with quite a number of things but in true DW fashion, I will soldier on and make it happen and really at the end of the day if I am honest with myself, it doesn't really matter. God will strengthen me and give me all that I need. Amen.

So my dear friends and blog readers, I hope that you will say a quick prayer for me and B that our marriage will be a happy and blessed one and that our wedding will fall smoothly into place with pretty details on the side.

Honestly this is a super cool idea that I found while surfing pinterest.
I know that Christmas is over and all that but really don't you think
that this is an awesome idea to decorate your party / house?
You can add some paint or stamp a pattern onto it as well
to change the colour from the current recycled brown.
You can add different embelishments, cutout butterflies or birds
or ribbons and make it something totally different.
Am excited. I think this could be a project that I undertake
this year as part of "The List" of things I plan to do
{refer to no.24 ~ start creating art}.
Nothing too hard. Just need to save them rolls.

about the wonder of books and how e-books will

never take over my love for the real deal.

Yes. It is a very ambitious list butquite a number of things

on it are very everyday things. Things tohave a healthier life,

to look more presentable and etc.

There are quite a number of ogranisingprojects because I will be

moving and stuff and really if you narrowit down, there are not

many real 'projects' but I thinkit's plenty to keep me busy.

Of course my OLW"Explore" will be included in this list as well.

Am thinking of grouping the list so thatit will make it more

actionable and achievable. Then I willstart on some time lines

cos knowing me, it will take forever todo anything.

So here's to a new year.

New beginnings.

New projects.

New changes.

My home

It's the kind of Sunday I like.

Not too sunny. Not too cloudy.

Just right.

The house is empty save for Belle the beagle and I.

Belle is curled up on the sofa dreaming her doggy dreams

and I am savouring the feeling of quiet in my home... of ME time...

Of having the house to myself... for in a months time or so,

this will no longer really be my home because once I get married
I will be moving out to live in the Love Nest.
It's not to say that I dread moving to the Love Nest
but it will be super different.

I feel as if I am being torn.
One part longs to be home here in the house I grew up in
for close to 30 years and the new home which I will share
with B... a home which is our own.

I used to have many of these moments of being alone at home

growing up and I never really appreciated those moments and now

when I realise that I may not have them for much longer,

I savour it and keep it close to my heart.

I know that moving out is not a big deal for some

but for me, it is.

It's monumental.

Imagine not waking up to the familiar sounds,
smells, people, things...

It's not impossible I know. Just different...

but I will miss it.
I will miss it so so much.

Yet I know that I am beginning to love the Love Nest
and having a place to share with B.
There will be a lot of moments and things to get used to,
of accepting each others own habits and leaning how
to adapt to that because for the longest time I have never
had to share or care about anyone else's habits except my
own and now I will face it everyday!

Mixed feelings. Mixed feelings.
They float and rise and ebb within me.

There isn't much time to dwell on these feelings though.
Things are moving much too quickly with the wedding
being just around the bend and a 106 other things to get done.
There is no time to absorb these changes slowly
because time just doesn't wait... it's not it's nature to do so.

I know I will always be welcome in my home but
it's never going to be the same... and my heart
is saddened by this but I guess this is just part of growing up.
Right...?

Dear Almighty Father,
Please give me the strength to face each new change
with the grace of an adult and not the grief of a child.
Help me to let go and to move forward,
always keeping in my heart and mind
memories that I will forever cherish.
Give me the strength and the patience
to face these new challenges and phases in life.
Help me along this new journey, hold my hand
and remind me that you are with me each
and every step that I take. Amen.

A crazy bride rant

I have been MIA on my blog and it communicating with my penpals and with some of my friends as well and I feel so crappy because I have so many things to blog about... but Project Happily Ever After is seriously time consuming and stressful!!! I have not completed anything a 100%. The invitation list is kinda spiraling a little out of control. The food and canopy for the reception after the church wedding and tea ceremony have not been booked. The flow of the wedding has not been done. Weight has not been lost. Pimples are popping up like mushrooms after the rain. People are driving me crazy with their demands and their antics and their words. And I am ranting like a crazy bride. GAH!!!!

Panic mode on.

Yet out of this craziness... there are smiles.

There is excitement. There is genuine happiness.

I just recieved awesome news, my host family from Temora and

my friend whom I met from my student exchange days from Switzerland, Philip is coming for my wedding!!!

*happy happy joy joy*

I am so excited.

Must focus.

Must get things in order pronto!

Panic mode has to be switched off.

Breathe.

Leave it in God's hands.

Amen.

I have always been obessive about scrapbook/arts & crafts studios/workspaces. Photos after photos of lovely inspiring interiors have come my way... some eloborate. some simple. some really fancy. some really pretty. some small. some large. some looking pretty expensive and some very functional. Anyways, moving along. I was interweb surfing {again} and chanced upon Donna Downey's studio and I just had to share it with all of you in great detail. I like its simplicity and its fucntionality ~ everything has a place for itself here. And of course I was green-eyed jealous when I saw all her stamps, papers, fabric, tools and the like. I know I talked about this earlier, but I just wanted to share {again} about the One Little Word {OLW} project that Ali Edwards is running. I read through the class summary and it sounds awesome. Am seriously considering joining it... {anyone wants to join with me?}. If you have not read my earlier post, my OLW for 2012 is "Explore".

Anyways, I have pasted below the introduction to OLW and about what the class is about for your reading pleasure. If you feel like it, have a think and come up with your OLW and share it with me. I would love to hear it. Till then, enjoy the new year holiday ~ its going to be awesome *grins*

A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripplein the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich andsoft and slow. From my own personal experience, it can be a catalyst forenriching your life.

In 2006, I began a tradition of choosing one word for myselfeach January - a word that I can focus on, meditate on, and reflect upon as Igo about my daily life. My words have included play, peace, vitality, nurture,light, and story. These words have each become a part of my life in one way or another.They've been imbedded into who I am, and into who I'm becoming. They've beenwhat I've needed (and didn't know I needed). They've helped me to breathedeeper, to see clearer, and to grow.

CHOOSING YOUR WORD

Can you identify a single word that sums up what you wantfor yourself in 2012? It can be something tangible or intangible. It could be athought, or a feeling, or an emotion. It can be singular or plural. The key isto find something that has personal meaning for you. This is not your mother'sword or your spouse's word or your child's word - this is YOUR word.

One little word can have big meaning in your life if youallow yourself to be open to the possibilities. And here's one thing that istotally interesting: sometimes a word will pop into your brain and it will notmake any sense to you right now. Give it some time. Let it percolate a bit. Ihave often found that our hearts speak to us in very unique ways. Maybe this isa word you need to hear but just aren't ready for it yet.

Again, be open to the possibilities.

THE PROJECT

Last year I decided I wanted to do something even moretangible with my One Little Word. I've found that, just like a resolution, it'seasy to lose sight of the things you set forward to embark on as regular lifegets busy throughout the course of the year. To combat this I plan to bring myword into my life more consciously and concretely and make it more visible bycreating an album to hold my thoughts, challenges and inspirations.

You're invited to join me on this journey.

Each month you'll receive an email and an invitation tovisit the One Little Word classroom. Inside the classroom, you'll find a gentlereminder message, encouragement to refocus, and a simple creative or writingproject to complete, related to your word. At the end of the year you'll havean album that celebrates and honors your word - making it that much moreconcrete and visible in your life.

For 2012 I will be using the same monthly prompts as 2011 asthe foundation for my album. All the class content will be updated for the newyear, new words and supply list adjustments: supply list, video presentations,handouts, images, etc. The prompts and themes will be the same but we will eachapproach them in new ways with our new words.

I don’t know about you but 2011 was a pretty decent year forme... There were many happy memories, some really scary and sad ones, ones that made me cry, that made me laugh, that made me smile, that made me cuss, that made me think, that made me hope, that made me dream.

2010 was a year of 'Coming Home' {my One Little Word - OLW - for the year} for me and this year as I ponder about what OLW would best describe 2011, the word comes easily to me. 2011 was a year of 'Preparation'... a year of building foundations. A year of preparing to grow up, preparing to fly, preparing to take big steps, preparing for big changes, preparing to be a wife, preparing to speak out, preparing to capture my dreams with two hands.

God who has always been my constant has not failed me this year. He has given me strength through the tough times and has sustained me. He has comforted me in times of sadness and loneliness. He has been a source of inner joy and peace and He has never failed to provide and bless all those whom I love and for that, I am eternally grateful. Thank you Father God for your many mercies and blessings.

I would have liked to boast about the super cool and awesome things that I have done in 2011, but there are none that rocked the world per se, but it sure rocked my life...

So here's what I did:

B moved into the Love Nest and we had our first house warming party.
Choose curtains, colours, pots, pans, furniture and etc.
I watched heaps of tv and movies.
Attended many weddings.
Went overseas to Singapore, Philippines and Vietnam.
Made several large purchases for Project Love Nest &Project Happily Ever After.
The Princess Project is a disaster ~ I think I am just happy in my own skin as is.
Finally got upgraded to a smart phone ~ the white SamsungGlaxay SII.
Went through the Catholic Marriage Preparation Course (CMPC)and thought it the best thing for B’s and my relationship.
Changed the look of Little Pieces of Heaven.
Started The Knick Knack Box.
Turned heaps of lemons into lemon meringue pies.
Watched ‘The Lion King’ on broadway {in Singapore} and in3D.
Wore my first skirt to work.
Bought more bags, clothes and accessories than ever before.
Have started to love colours more ~ especially Pink!
Took heaps of photos.
Deleted toxic people from my Facebook page.
Started using my arts + crafts supplies {small steps DW!}.
Read quite a few books of varying genres.
Saved. Spent. And tried to save some more.
Freelanced for Home & Décor.
Shopped quite a bit online.
Built and strengthened some friendships, let go of some others.
Finally got more than 1 million points in Zuma.
I have more than 220 pinterest followers.
Since May 2009, I have had 30,531 pageviews - a small number for many but good encouragement for me *double woot woots*

Yes. 2011 was a very full year that whizzed by too quickly and although I will hate to see it go and though I am panicky that my wedding day {and hitting the big 30} is getting closer and closer with each breath I take, I am fully welcoming 2012. There is so much to look forward to and really, it will be a whole new phase in life. Not only will I be married *woot woot* and turn 30 {I reckon I still look 24} but I will be moving out of the home I have known for the past 29 years and going to Europe *triple woot woots*. I also plan to explore new opportunities and new things that I have always wanted to do but never did.

I have not talked much about Project Happilly Ever After and I have

talked even less about the Princess Project. The reason being

is that both are not going as smoothly as I hoped it would.

Project Happily Ever After has hit some bumps along the way.

Bump Bump Bump! From the guest list to the invitation {the horror!},

to the pre-wedding photography, to the wedding favor, and etc.

Then there is the awful realisation that everything involves $$$.

Lots of it. Everything you touch is $$$. *gulp*

There are still a couple {I use this lightly} of loose ends to tie up.

A couple more calls and arrangements to make.

A couple more envelopes to stamp...

and the list goes on.

So ya... btw, everyone I meet now asks the same question...

"How is the wedding preparations?" and I know they mean well

but really. Do they really care or want to know? Not sure.

Right moving swiftly along...
The Princess Project is not going well as mentioned above.
My skin is super sensitive. For some reason I break into
fits of sneezing {violently I might add}which leads to me having
red ugly eyes and an awful headache. My hair is... strange.
And most of all I look like a sausage *sniffs*

I was so moved by this person.

I have not had the pleasure of meeting Azam

but his story is inspiring and humbling.

It made me think then of all the other brave and

I finally have sometime to sit down and be enveloped in Christmas.

Some time to just think and let my thoughts wonder.

I know the theme songs for the season should be Christmas carols and such and surprisingly this year I have not indulged in them too much {but there is always another 12 days to indulge} but instead have taken to listening to the OST to 'Breaking Dawn'... I know right? Wth!!! But its surprisingly good. Am listening to the track titled 'Love Death Birth' and it is beautiful. No words. Just music. Magic.The house is quiet. The wind is stirring around the house and I am a little hungry but have stuffed my face with chocolate chip cookies {my breakfast} while waiting for something more substantial for lunch.

Each year, I count down till Christmas. Each year, I hope for more magic and for the perfect Christmas celebration with all the pretty trimmings, trees and company... but it has taken me 29 years to realise that there is no perfect Christmas that the world can offer. The presents, the wrapping, the decorations, the food, the music and movies are all pretty and add to the festive mood but in actual fact, Christmas does happen in your heart. It happens when you are not looking. When are you aren't listening and when you are not prepared.

It creeps up to you and washes over you leaving you with joyand peace... for today is born in the City of David a child is born, to us a sonis given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall becalled Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

This is my last Christmas as a twenty-something and as a single women. This year is the last year I wake up on Christmas morning in my own bed looking at the raspberry walls and Disney jigsaw puzzle. I have mixed feelings. Excitement for the new beginnings to come and yet melancholic for these simpler times with my family. So this year, Christmas is all about family. We have lined up dinners and parties at my relatives places. Its going to be reflective when I get moments alone but mostly filled with laughter when I am around my family. Had a Starbucks session with Cat {my old bestie}, her husband, Drama Dave, Jo & Rachel and of course B. The conversation was kinda skewed to babies, birthing, weddings and paint... but I enjoyed hanging out with them. Perhaps this can be one of our traditions *smiles smiles smiles*

Speaking of traditions and me lamenting {nearly every year about the lack of it}, I realised that I have managed to retain one tradition for many years, that being the Midnight Mass. This year's mass was beautiful. The church was decked out in pretty Christmas decorations, the crib was done up well by the Philippino community, whole mass was orchestrated so well and the music was magical! There wasn't much shopping done this year either {the shopping malls I felt were not decorated to their utmost best as well... I believe Pavilion takes the cake for super awesome decorations} and not many presents received this year and for once in my life, I am okay with that. There is more to Christmas presents. Seriously. Though being human I love the trimmings and wrapping *smiles*

And you know what, there is always room to make more traditions in the coming years and I should just enjoy the now, the moment. And you know what, the Christmases to come will be awesome because I will be married and we will have a new addition to the family {and God willing more additions to come as well to our lives and to our friends lives as well}! *smiles smiles* so there is something to look forward to. I have had this picture for some time and every time I see it, I start cracking up. I honestly pity this poor child whose parents probablythought it cool to dress him {I hope it’s a him} in a Mr T style look.

On one hand I can see the funniness in this and the laughsit will bring but I pity the poor child when he grows up and this photocirculates among his peers. It could go two ways… he could either be a star or acomplete loser {I am hoping he becomes a super star}. On second thought... I might dress my kid up like this as well. I am sure he/she will be the talk {laugh} of the town ~ but he/she would get heaps of hugs and cuddles I am sure.

I love confetti. It brings 'parties' and 'happiness'
and 'magic' to my mind.

The weekend was filled with wedding related stuff...
the wedding photo shoot which was quite an unpleasant
affair for B and I {too pose-ish for the likes of us} turned
out to be not as bad as we expected. In fact, we had a hard time
choosing just 50 poses for the wedding albums.

I also had my wedding food tasting {since we will be running
around and not really enjoying the food} with my family and
B's family. The food was pretty darn good {all my favourites}
but it was a little bit of a downer because the conversation was
not following. In fact, it seemed as if the parents had not met
before ~ it was so awkward. I guess my dad was not feeling
super well too, hence the lack of silly jokes and fun stories.

Then we also met up with the SFX Church choir to pick the
songs for my wedding service. I liked the choir lady who was
super patient and who keep singing us the songs so we would
know how it sounded like. I also met the bride for the morning
service, Yvonne, and it was great because she agreed with having
pink flowers with shots of green {photos of this soon}. We are
splitting the cost, so we can hopefully get better flowers
*woot woot*

Am working on the invitation list now {slowly plodding through it}
and hope to get it sort by mid-week when the invites will hopefully
be printed or at least semi ready {let's just not talk
about the invites before I start ranting and raving again}.

We were also surprised when Mic {one of B's best friends} surprised us with another photo shoot ~ this time capturing the essence of who we are instead of the poser-ish in wedding gown types *smiles*

Both B and I are touched by this and have no clue how he knew that our earlier photo shoot didn't quite go as we thought it would...maybe through twitter where I whinge alot... hmmm...

Anyways... happy Monday all.

I can’t imagine Belle being unable to run aroundchomping on flowers and stuff {which she sometimes does}. I can’t imagine hernot running in the grass at her sitter’s place. I can’t imagine her not jumpingon chairs and sitting beside us as we eat or curling up on my lap to chew herbone.

Just read this article about parenting Extreme Parenting and I think it's just that -- Extreme! In some ways, as sick as it may sound, I totally understand the need to discipline your children and to get them to havebetter grades and to excel in life. I guess deep down, these Tiger Momsand Wolf Dads just want the best fortheir kids and hopefully through these methods of theirs, they hope to secure agood future for their children. Being Asian doesn’t help either since we havethe “always want to win” syndrome or “kiasu” as it is popularly known here inMalaysia and even in Singapore.

I sometimes feel this way too, kiasu… but then I look backat the way I was brought up and I think “hey, I didn’t turn out so bad!”. And it’strue. I may not be the brightest apple in the basket but I have pretty decentjob and I have a fulfilling life. I may not have gotten any scholarships {apartfrom a student exchange one that didn’t quite need us to have excellent grades,and book scholarships and partial ones to study aboard} but I learnt heapsabout growing up and about people. I have not excelled at sports or music orart or in studies and etc. {the list is too long for this} but I played in thepark with my friends, cycled around the neighborhood, stayed up late to watchtv, had imaginary games of “masak masak” {cooking} with my dolls and had alovely childhood.

When I was growing up, I was allowed to go to parties,hangout at friends houses, go to shopping complexes, movies, bowling and allsorts of fun things. In college, I freelanced for magazines, hungout till thesun came up, drank, kissed, partied, laughed, loved, dated, went for trips and lived.

I guess that’s the crux of it. I lived.

I lived. I breathed. I held life with two hands.

I didn’t sit on the sidelines and watch as the world went byand others lived and breathed and danced.

I am not reckless don’t get me wrong but I did things andfor the most part, I never regretted the things that I did. They shaped me to be the woman I am today…

And for all these experiences that I have been through, I

thankmy non-tiger/wolf parents

for giving me the freedom to experiencing it all.

naked nails

It was supposed to be pretty straightforward. I leave work slightly early - take a cab to my nail salon and get my manicure and pedicure done for my pre-wedding photo session on Thursday.

but NO!

My nails are not done.

Firstly something came up at work, so I left slightly late. Then I couldn't get a cab and when I finally got a patient nice cab man to send me to Taman Tun for my nail appointment, I get stuck in a jam. And then it rains. And the meter for the cab is running. And running. And then the nail salon calls me and tells me that if I don't reach in 5 minutes I have to reschedule ~ I am in fact very far away. Very very far away!!!

So, I don't have an appointment,

can't get my nails done and am stuck in a jam.

I feel down and angry and sad and annoyed.

I want to laugh at the situation. I want to scream.

But instead, I called Drama Dave and we go to Decanter for a drink.

I feel better after the very ladies vodka.

But my nails un-coloured ~ they feel strangely cheated and naked after I promised them a pampering spa session. I reckon I gotta go find myself a nail salon tomorrow during lunch to get my nails done. Pray I manage to get them done.

Am now frantically getting my props ready for my pre-wedding shoot while trying not to think about the wedding invitations that have yet to be done and the guest list which is 300-ish people too many!

Ahhh... thoughts of eloping did cross my mind several times over the course of these two weeks but as my best friends remind me, it will be all worth it at the end of the day. I will try to remember this in the next 2 months or so. *tick tock tick tock* the so called 'big day' is just round the corner ~ egad!

Thank God for B who keeps me sane and who puts up with the craziness.

I am so glad that he is back... things are back to normal.

Off to bed I go *smiles* I hear rain and thunder.

Btw, it's B's birthday today. No big celebration.
Just a quiet dinner at his home, Gossip Girl series on the telly.

I really really love the photos I saw on My Sweet & Saucy. The photos were for a couple called Audree and Matt and man were they lovely photos. I would have liked to be at this wedding.

Everything looked to pretty and coordinated and when I see photos such as this, I get a pang of something I can't quite name. I love the desert table the whole coordinated look and feel of the wedding... something my wedding will not really have. I know I should be thankful and oh so blessed because I am already getting so much but I guess when you surf the interweb and see such pretty things, your heart kinda wants it too...

Guilty Pleasures

During my short holiday at Pangkor Island, my friends and I asked each other some random questions like "if you could change your past, what would it be?" or "how would people describe you?". Now one of the questions was "what is your guilty pleasure?" and we had good fun discussing this. While thinking for my answer, I realised that I had heaps of guilty pleasures *snickers snickers grin grin*. Today, I will share one of these pleasures with you.

It is a rather simple one. The guilty pleasure of being a couch potato and watching TV Series! I only starting getting super hooked when I stopped hanging out so much at clubs/pubs and the likes and decided to stop drinking like a fish and instead spend more time at home. It's also super awesome to just vegetate on the couch and just be immersed in someone else's life. I also love it when B and I snuggle up on the couch or on the bed to watch endless episodes of our favourite series.

I thought I would share some of the series that we love and are currently watching. Btw, we love TV hence why we watch heaps of it plus, it really is an awesome relaxant after a super bleh day at work. So read on and Enjoy!

Gossip Girl ~ super drama. awesome clothes. hot guys and pretty girls. I love the super drama-ness about it. The parties. The dresses. The fashion.

The crazy romances and of course Chuck + Blair!

The Vampire Diaries ~ vampires. witches. werewolves. ghosts.

hot guys + pretty girls. a very deep story which keeps me guessing.

the guys in the movie are better looking than the girls *grin*

Supernatural ~ the title says it all. all kinds of weirdness.

two cute brothers + one hot father. *yums*

you learn a lot about how to kill supernatural beings...

creepy. entertaining. like a drug you crave.

Subergatory ~ Suburbia + Purgatory. just started watching this and it ishilarious. full of laughs. enjoyable. perfect for dinner.

The New Girl ~ LOVE this! It is super hilarious and makes me think

of me sometimes. Kooky. Silly. A keeper.

The Lying Game ~ confusing at times but it has an interesting plot.

watch it with my family.

Pretty Little Liars ~ I watch this alone and like it heaps for the

drama. the suspense. the dresses. the girls.

Hellcats ~ both B and I liked Hellcats then but after awhile it got boring. would not mind watching it again but then its not our top top TV show.

Make It Or Break It ~ I watched this alone for hours on end. I loved

to catch glimpses of the lives and sacrifices of gymnasts.

Their routines amaze me.

The weekend was aweseome-busy-tiring-blessed.

B & I had our first 'open house / party' at the Love Nest on Saturday and invited our relatives and friends over. For the first batch {since the Love Nest is quite compact in size}, we had B's relatives over - we had a 'happy house warming' cake and a birthday cake for B whose birthday is next week. After that, I had my friends over.

It was good to get everyone together and I am so thankful for the lovely presents that we recieved ~ the 500 bucks Ikea card is just so awesome as I can finally start putting up the soft touches to the Love Nest with photoframes and the like *smiles smiles*, so thanks guys ~ both B and I appreciate it and let's share the wine soon while we toast to our first holiday away in what 11 years? Lastly we ended the day with poker night at ours {pizza, poker and all kinds of drinks!} with the guys ~ I love winning at poker though my hands were pretty good. So, there we were... from 8:30am {woke up scrambling to get the house spick and span} till 2am {watching videos after a night of poker}. The only thing I regret was not taking enough pics but its hard playing hostess and taking pics at the same time ~ maybe I shall remember next time.

Sunday dawned upon me wayyyy to early. I went to church, had lunch and then B and I went to get our wedding bands at Diamond & Platinum. I had initially wanted a rose gold number with a small row of diamonds but then the rose gold ring next to my white gold engagement ring didn't quite jive, so we opted for white gold wedding bands but the designs that were simillar to the rose gold ones that we wanted. I love the ring already and can't wait to wear it *super silly grin* After ring/bling shopping, B and I had our first Christmas Starbucks of the 2011 and we bought each other Starbucks tumblers ~ mine a Christmas number with pretty snowflakes and B a Starbucks lookalike {photos to be uploaded soon...ish}. Was a little annoyed at the girl who served us as she didn't inform me of the new redemption mechanism for the 2012 diaries and because of that, I lost 3 stamps ~ bleh!

Next we had two weddings in a row. A ROM (Registration of Marriage) and another wedding reception at a local country club. It was good meeting up with friends. So at the end of the day which was 11:30pm, B and I were both pooped and due to the lack of sleep since the weekend I am now having the flues and feel jaglaggish or how I imagine jaglag to feel like. Plus my new lenses on my specs make me feel as if I am floating. Am going to give it another week to get used to and if my then I still am not used to it, I will be going to back to the shop to get it sorted.

On an awesome note, my dad who had a minor operation about a week ago just got word from the doctor that he is cancer-free and that everything is going A-okay! *Praise & Thank You God for your goodness and mercy and for hearing my prayer* He has some back problems but not much can be done for that since it is mostly due to getting older. {getting older kinda sucks at times}. So, while I mop up my leaky nose and try to get pull myself together for the day ahead, I wish all of you a happy Tuesday. It's a short week for me as I am off for a short island holiday with my friends while B goes to Vietnam with his friends. One of the first times in a long long long time since we are going for a holiday without each other but I am sure the days will pass by in a blur and in no time it will be Christmas and then our Wedding Day *woot woot* {saying it aloud makes me feel antsy as we don't have everything sorted just yet ~ working on it really!}.

Calendar Swap 2012

I got to know about the calendar swap through Marta's blog. Curiousity got the better of me since I love calendars {and am actually in the midst of looking for a daily planner ~ I usually buy one at least a month before the new year}. So I clicked on the link and reached Design Crush's site and post for the Calendar Swap. Long story short, I have now got two calendar swap mates ~ Ariel from New York and Noella from Dubai {loving her blog}. We have been exchanging emails and its pretty cool to find other like minded people out there who loves kinda the same things that you do *smiles smiles grin grin*

So, what is a Calendar Swap ~ its basically selecting and purchasing a calendar for someone else. You can decide if you want to swap locally or internationally. There isn't a catch of anything, just that each calendar has to be about $20-$30 and that you have to send the calendars out by Thanksgiving. So am going to be calendar hunting for my two Calendar Swap buddies ~ super excited! I think Calendar Swaps are super!

A full Saturday

It's been a busy Saturday. Very family and Belle filled. B is at an event today so I have been doing my own thing today.When he isn't around, I miss him *smiles*

I woke up at 7:30am today and spent quite a bit of time today to go through some Project Happily Ever After stuff, watched 2010 Poker World Championship Tournament, surfed the interweb, played Zuma, bought heaps of pretty ribbons, played with Belle and went for a walk with her and my mum, chatted with my family and went to my aunties house. I did a bit of daydreaming as well and pinning @ Pinterest.

Just wanted to say that Project Happily Ever After is moving along, slowly but surely. Today really has been a full day ~ hadn't had one of these in awhile. Hope all of you guys are having an awesome Saturday.

P.S: I super love this quote about Happiness. It makes me smile.

Deepavali Wednesday

Today is Deepavali or Diwali the celebration of lights for our Hindu brothers and sisters. As such, it is a public holiday here in Malaysia today {yes another one *woot woot*} ~ I think we have the most public holidays in the world and I ain't complaining!

So instead of sleeping early last night, I had a long Mexican dinner with an old friend, Di from college {the few that I had} and chatted about this and that... mostly about men and their weird ways. I later brought her to see the Love Nest which is not a 100% completed but is more or less 'there'. B also had some friends of ours over at the Love Nest, so Di and I continued our conversation in the craft room/study/library {must be more diligent in taking photos and posting them up}. Di and I chatted until about 1am and then she left and I joined in the poker game that was already in session ~ and yes, I play poker and I kinda like it and also thank God that B and I both won *woot woot*

After poker, we kinda hung around some more to just chat and stuff. B reckons that our friends like hanging out at our place and I guess I feel that too. So far we have received only good comments about our Love Nest though my ex boss told me that it the kitchen was 'kinda boring'. Well, with the limited budget that we have, I think we have a lovely kitchen and a cosy Love Nest which is growing on me each time I stay there... I just am perplexed about how I am going to fit everything I own into Love Nest.

Anyways, we slept at about 3am-ish and work up late. It was just awesome lying on the comforters and just reading. It was like lying on fluffy clouds! B was awesome as he cooked me lunch. We had an omelette with cheese and sausages ~ yums while watching Supernatural Season 3. It was satisfying and so carefree. Then while B tidied and cleaned up the Love Nest, I snuggled up under the sheets and continued reading ~ am reading Yann Martel's new book "Virgil and Beatrice" {I have read some reviews and sadly it ain't quite a promising read but I will give it a go nonetheless + I did buy it anyways so too late to turn back the clock on this one}.

The rest of the day passed by in a blur of sleeping, watching 'Captain America', talking, laughing, grocery shopping and dog pampering and then what do you know, the day is almost over. I should have done more stuff. Like planning for Project Happily Ever After, or cleaned my room or something but I didn't ~ shame on me! But anyways, the good part of it all is that there is only 2 more days till the weekend! *smiles smiles smiles* Hope all of you had a good Wednesday. I had a good lazy one with a wonderful man and my family ~ I am indeed blessed.

I know it is also quite late but to all my friends and readers who celebrate the Festival of Lights, Happy Deepavali.

B & Date Night

It's been awhile since B and I had a date night and since there was a
Groupon promotion for The Lion King in 3D, I thought it would be
perfect for a date night session.

So on Saturday, B and I met at the Bangsar LRT station
{I earlier had lunch with Cat my oldest bestest friend at
The Loaf @ Bangsar Village 2} instead of driving into the city
to reduce our carbon footprint *smiles*

At KLCC, we walked around for a bit and then went to TGV to get
our caramel popcorn, coke and sprite. I was so excited to see the
Lion King in 3D even if I had already watched the cartoon more
than 10 times. It's just one amazing cartoon. I even watched
The Lion King the musical in Singapore earlier this
year and that was spectacular as well *grin grin grin*

Lion King in 3D did not disappoint at all {excluding the noisy chatter of children and adults}. It was like watching the cartoon for the first time and it was magic all over again. What joy! I laughed and got misty eyes. I sang along under my breath and held B's hand and munched on the popcorn and maple, sugared bun *super happy happy joy joy*

After the Lion King, we walked around a little more and then decided to have dinner at The Apartment which faced the KLCC fountains ~ super romantic. It's simple memorable momentslike this that remind me of how blessed I am to have B in my lifeand to have such a wonderful family and so many lovely things.Indeed I am blessed. Thank you God for all these blessings. I can't wait for our next date night *smiles grin grin*
